With the development of The Clubhouse later this year, the ultimate paddock-to-plate dining experience will be on offer at Hazelwood Estate.
In celebration of the farming heritage of the Scenic Rim, we will showcase a Hazelwood Wagyu tasting experience through our “Wagyu Cellar Door” and an à la carte menu that changes with the seasonal harvests from our gardens and the local producers we source from in the Scenic Rim. Our wine list features well-loved favourites, as well as lesser known boutique wine makers from the region.
The Clubhouse will be available to cater for corporate events and private functions once construction is completed.
‘Wagyu’ refers to all Japanese beef cattle, where ‘Wa’ means Japanese and ‘gyu’ means cow.
Wagyu were originally draft animals used in Japanese agriculture, and were selected for their physical endurance. This selection favoured animals with more intra-muscular fat cells, or ‘marbling’, which provided a readily available source of energy and gives it the characteristic tenderness, juiciness and rich flavour that Wagyu is renowned for.
