Escape to Hazelwood Estate and taste the region’s finest ingredients, sip a drink on the sunset terrace, enjoy a scenic bush walking trail, or retreat in five-star luxury.

Destination and Location

Destination & Location

Located on Lamington National Park’s Beechmont plateau approximately 600m above sea level, Hazelwood Estate experiences its own micro-climate and some of Australia’s most fertile deep red volcanic soil.

Hazelwood is around six to eight degrees cooler than the Gold Coast and is home to the second highest rainfall in Australia outside of Tasmania. We think it’s the perfect excuse to cosy up to the fire all year round!

Our Story

Our Story

Hazelwood Estate was named after the location of the Northcott family’s original residence. What started as a disused dairy, the Northcott family lovingly transformed into a working Wagyu cattle and polo farm.

In 2021, the Northcott family opened the property as a luxury country retreat to allow guests to share in this very special part of the world.

At Hazelwood Estate we take our commitment to the natural environment very seriously and have implemented a number of environmental initiatives. Green building principles were embedded in the estate’s design and construction, harvested rainwater is the only water used onsite and solar power accounts for the vast majority of the retreat’s energy usage.

Ingrained in the ethos of our signature restaurant, The Paddock, is a focus on hyper-local and sustainable produce, using this produce from root-to-stem and nose-to-tail. Guests are also immersed in this philosophy with environmental education at the heart of many of our experiences and activities.
