Lamington National Park
Hazelwood Estate is a boutique retreat situated on the Lamington National Park’s Binna Burra section on the Beechmont Plateau. Surrounded by national park, Hazelwood is located 1 hour and 20 mins from Brisbane CBD and 40 mins from the Gold Coast. Lamington National Park is part of the World Heritage-listed Central Eastern Rainforest Reserve and is a cultural landscape listed on the Queensland heritage register.
Beechmont is located on the most northern spur of the McPherson Range, 26 km inland from Burleigh Heads. The area was inhabited in 1886 with the Beechmont State School opening in August 1904 with the commencement of dairying. The now lush country roads were built in 1923, and the township expanded with the boom in dairying after World War II. Today Beechmont is home to artisans, cattle and horse farmers, and fresh food producers, including our neighbour’s avocado farm.
